A quick guide to self-care, our top tips
With life as it is today along with other commitments, it's easy to get overwhelmed and hard to allow yourself the time to take care of yourself. With the current global uncertainty, it's still important to make this time. We have some of our favourite tips and tricks to help you craft a self-care routine that fits you perfectly. It’s so important to be kind to yourself in every area of your life. Whether it’s via food, in the form of exercise or simply taking the time to re-centre and decompress. Establish a time that will be most beneficial for you. Perhaps it’s a morning stretch practice or a mini facial before beginning your day. Whichever you choose, grant yourself the time to be consistent with these rituals. As it’s easy to brush new habits aside when life gets in the way. Oh and don’t forget, plenty of water, sleep and good music.
The space;
Is this more of a physical or mental space for you? Either way, both are important. Unwinding with no technology will add a sense of calm and relaxation to your day. Especially after those chaotic ones (you'll notice the benefits much more). It can be as simple as sitting in a calm area in your home and just being.
Why not reflect on your day or not think about anything at all? Meditation is a perfectly relaxing way to switch off from everyday life and reconnect with yourself. Try getting comfy and cosy with some of our essential oil blends, or set the tone with a prayer bowl and tune into your own frequency. This can sometimes be a daunting experience for new beginners, so we also offer guided meditation practices to get you on your way or just something fun to join in with like-minded people if that's more your vibe.
Nurturing this process and letting it grow and evolve with you is all part of the fun.
The rituals;
Routine can be such a boring way to look at this but all the while important. Making everyday habits into a ritual makes it more of an event or focus point. Getting rid of the rush or stress of something as simple as making your coffee in the morning. Find your favourite blend or mug, take your time making it sitting and enjoying it. How about using invigorating essential oils in your morning shower and staying in an extra five minutes? Journalling is also a great tool. We enjoy and find it most beneficial reflecting once a month. Perhaps on what your achievements have been? What have you learned or how you've grown? Try getting some crystal magic happening too, set your intentions for the month ahead with a full or new moon. Keeping in tune with this side of yourself are small and warm reminders of what is important to you and your wellbeing.
The food. And the gut;
Now, this is where the real magic happens. Everyone knows it's important to have a healthy and balanced diet. But the benefits of looking after your gut are phenomenal. A happy gut means happy you. Busy and hectic lifestyles can mean healthy eating can take a back seat over ease and time. Healthy food does not have to be hard or a chore, just a little organisation. If you're stuck for time, try planning your week's meals. Keeping your kitchen stocked with everyday basics or your recipe staples will help. We have created an effective gut-healthy recipe book filled with tasty and satisfying meals. If you're looking to really do the work on your gut we also offer gutright challenges. These are filled with amazingly good bacteria. The benefits of caring for your gut are endless. Improves mood and mental health, boost energy levels, supports weight loss and the list goes on.
The movement;
Noticing how your body feels when you incorporate movement or a new exercise into your routine is priceless. Paying attention to these positive changes to your body and mind will only add to the benefits. It's good to feel challenged and push yourself toward new goals. Not only are you completing them but you're getting fit and energised at the same time. Yoga is the perfect way to add movement to your day. Why not try morning sun salutations for twenty minutes before you start your day or perhaps a soothing night yoga before bed. Helping you on your way for a good night's sleep. Simple, small daily rituals.
